Been looking for a while for a replacement to my 550 cord survival bracelet that was worn to the point of no longer being viable as intended. Found this at my local gear store, All The Range, and was immediately impressed with the features, quality and price. There are 550 bracelets in the market with more features but for me they were too trying to do too much as well as charge too much. This is the perfect design in my mind; takes care of the need for fire and a fishing kit always available. Nice job… thank you!

Outdoor Element’s Kodiak Survival Braid is a great survival bracelet. A very cleaver idea to place the ferro rod and striker in in the bracelets buckle. It sparks up very nicely making our charred cloth and cotton balls with Vaseline easy to get started. I got the large size which is just a little big, but the medium was not quite big enough. I liked that the Kodiak came with a sample piece of para cord to check out the features in the cord it self. Pulled out the Jute and made a little nest and gave the striker a try and after a few attempts got a spark to take hold and had a fire. With fishing line in the para cord and a hook hidden within this bracelet is all set to save you behind if needed.  Will definitely be taking the Kodiak on future outing.

Thanks ScoutmasterDex. We love feedback, especially when it is good. :) The bracelets do seem to shrink a little with time, so it is good that you bought the slightly larger size rather than the slightly tight size. You bring up a good point. The first time you strike the ferro rod, it will probably not spark as the coating needs to be scraped off with one or two strikes before it will produce a spark. Thanks for the review.
